We are already struggling with the price of flights and have started driving down. It saves money, but adds so much time to the trip. We are about 1150 miles away as well.

I too read that it is one particular gas station that overcharges knowing they can suck in the tourists. There are always rumors right before summer that gas prices are going up to panic people. Although they are $3.79 here and I am not thrilled with it.
